NFU Mutual Agency Giving Fund 2024 for East Antrim agency

NFU Mutual Agents and their staff at NFU Mutual East Antrim agency recently nominated four local charities to receive a donation of more than £3,200 each from NFU Mutual’s national £1.92million ‘Agency Giving Fund’. The Fund forms part of NFU Mutual’s pledge to support charities during 2024.

  • Assistance Dogs NI
  • Angel Wishes
  • Tiny Life
  • The Farmers Choir

This donation will enable Assistance Dogs NI to help fulfil the need for assistance dogs for autism and full-time wheel-chair users.  With 21% of adults in Northern Ireland and 6% of children having been diagnosed with one or more disabilities the charity believes there is a gap in the provision of assistance dogs for these individuals in Northern Ireland and will put the donation from NFU Mutual towards helping as many people as possible.

This donation will enable Angel Wishes to support children throughout Northern Ireland with cancer related conditions.  As everyone at Angel Wishes are volunteers, 100% of the donation will go to support families whose world has been thrown into turmoil following a child being diagnosed with a cancer related condition.  That could be through financial support for the family, helping siblings through a difficult time, support to continue education, or helping with families have wonderful lasting memories for children receiving palliative care.

This donation to Tiny life will go towards the ongoing costs of providing a range of support services to meet the growing needs of families of premature babies locally and to support research to ensure that every pregnancy has the best chance of a healthy outcome and healthy baby.  Tiny life is Northern Ireland’s premature and vulnerable baby charity, dedicated to reducing premature birth, illness, disability and death in the six babies that are born every day in Northern Ireland.

This donation to the Farmers Choir will go towards the day-to -day running of the group as well as staging concerts and events.  The Farmers Choir meet fortnightly and aims to provide social opportunities for farmers and others from sometimes isolated rural communities who share an interest in singing and music.   The group has currently over 40 members from across Co. Antrim.
